Information on funding opportunities focused on women’s health and wellbeing will be released later this year.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Mary Jane Foundation is a Private Ancillary Fund (PAC). We can only offer funding to not-for-profit organisations that provide proof of endorsement by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) (ie a certificate from the ATO) as a Deductible Gift Recipient Type 1 (DGR1) and Tax Charity Concessions (TCC).
- Organisations must be Australian based with the initiative delivered within Australia that is focused on the health and wellbeing of women and girls.
- The organisation’s annual income should be less than $1 million.
- The applicant organisation must have the support of its committee/board members.
- Only one submission per organisation will be considered within the same calendar year.
- Applicants must demonstrate the skills, knowledge and capabilities of key people accountable for successfully and responsibly managing the initiative.
- Successful organisations must have a bank account to accept funds via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
- Funds must be used for the purpose as outlined in the submission.
Exclusions
Projects or initiatives that are not eligible to be funded:
- Deficit funding or organisations with a potential negative equity position.
- Retrospective funding (funds for initiatives that have already taken place).
- A project designed to benefit a single person or individual family.
- General fundraising appeals and initiatives that give donations to other organisations.
- Initiatives offered for the exclusive benefit of a religious or political group.
- Expenses that are not related to, or necessary for, the initiative.
- Government departments and organisations are not considered charitable by the Australian Taxation Office.
Grant Decisions
- All applicants will be noticed by email whether the submission has been successful within one month of being received.
- The funds will be paid by electronic funds transfer (EFT) into the organisation’s nominated bank account within two weeks after an acceptance letter has been submitted.
- An official donation receipt must be sent to Mary Jane Foundation within seven days of the funds being received.
Acknowledgement
- Funding acknowledgement (optional) can be applied to relevant promotional materials.
- A Mary Jane Foundation Her Health Hero jpeg badge will be supplied.
- Successful grantees are encouraged to communicate with the Mary Jane Foundation throughout the project period and, where appropriate, provide content so our organisation can help share your important work in women's health.
Project Completion
- Successful organisations must submit an acquittal report within 12 months of funds being received, including a full income and expenditure statement and scanned copies of receipts for major project expenses. The acquittal report can be submitted online or a PDF can be be submitted by email.
- A current grant must be satisfactorily completed and acquitted, including unspent grant funds and/or any funds that cannot be used as specified in the grant application to be returned to Mary Jane Foundation at the time of the acquittal submission, before subsequent grant applications can be accepted.
